Hey everyone looking for pricing help- go to a local bookstore and buy a copy of Goldmine Record Album Price Guide. In general depends on three things - (1) rarity - were 100 copies printed or 3 million, (2) was it a 'first edition" or the 5th production because it sold so many copies and (3) the condition; if it's scratched to death, it's met it's death. "Mint" and "near mint" means what is sound like; "good" means the Goodwill store. enjoy.

What to do...over 100 vinyl records

Wss thinking of having a yard sale and selling loads of vinyl records. My husband got upset and said that they might be worth something. All in amazingly great condition in their original sleeves. Are they worth anything? Hate to sell them for dirth cheap at a yard sale to find out later I missed out on a couple of thousand.

My husband passed away from Cancer unexpectedly, I have 177 Albums a few were never played; but most were just played once to put on reel to reel. Also, almost all if not all have any and all pictures, cut outs and photo or advertisement sleeves that came with them. The years are 1963 thru 1984; some I couldn't find date. i recently took one of my moms boxes of old vinyls and she told me she has the Skynyrd album that they took off the shelves due to the band in flames. Dying in a plane crash they pulled the album and I am curious if it has any value to it.

Ive done a little bit of research and have found that a lot of the Beatles and Elvis records are really rare. Vintage records

My grandmother recently passed and in her possession are old records, 7 " and standard size all in excellent condition dating back to 1945. They are not in jackets but in books where each album is held in it's own sleeve on it's own page. They are thicker than the later date LP's. I want to know if anyone knows how much they are worth.

I have many LIKE NEW old classical vinyl sets of classical records albumns in bound books.
One example:Hayden: SymphonyNo. 103 in E-Flat Major (Drum Roll), Leslie Heward conducting the Halle' Orchestra Columbia set MM547
Is anyone interested in acquiring these collector albums? I have about 100 bound albums from all the classical masters. They are probably 50- 60 + years old in perfect condition. The labels vary from Columbia, Victor(Red seal) and Odeon. I also have some vintage Franklin Mint Classical Collectors Albums from the early 70's.

The Essential Charlie Parker

I have an album, on the Verve label, titled "The Essential Charlie Parker". It has a black cover with Charlie's headshot and has 10 cuts (beginning with "Kim" and ending with "KC Blues"). However when I look around online, I find albums with the same title that have a "painting" of Charlie on the front and, though it contains many of the same songs, there are more songs that are not on mine. Can anyone help me determine the age of this album and tell me the difference between them?

Hi,
Could you please give me some info about the value of personal letters written by Elvis? The events he talks about are SO shocking and disturbing; I just can't go into those details yet. These details are unknown to the world, but I've had the letters and some envelopes post dated from the 60s. I just don't know what to do with the letters. How do I find out what they're worth?
In addition, he mailed us baby pictures of Lisa Marie in their home. One photo is just a black and white picture from a camera; the other is a professional 5 by 7 of her at the age of 1 or 2, with a cheap plastic original frame and his writing on the back.
I'm not sure if I can find it but, I also HAD, at one time, a letter written by Priscilla Presley with her lipstick and signature at the end.

the second is bing crosby in holiday inn with fred astaire again the cover is slightly worn but the albums and booklet are in great shape this is also a decca album # 306 please get back to me if anyone knows the value of these items.thank you

1. You can't just say, "I have a bunch of old records, what are they worth?" and expect a response. Any more than you could say I have an old car, I think its a Chevy, what's it worth? Is it a Corvette, what year. These artists, especially the Beatles, Elvis, Stones have put out numerous reissues of the same titles. It all depends on the DETAILS, such as label, catalog #, CONDITION!,
2. Why do you think somebody who has spent the last 30 or 40 years collecting and learning about this stuff. I mean spending THOUSANDS of hours to learn the minutia of a rare .vs. a common record are just going to drop everything and tell you you have a valuable record?
3. Knowledge is power. I've spent a lot of time learning about a small area of record collecting - the stuff I actually like. I can tell you most generic piles of records from somebody's attic or basement may have one or two items worth more than $5.00. Most of them, especially your big band and MOR stuff (what your parents or grandparents bought, Patty Page, Glen Campbell, isn't worth anything.

If I find your pile of records and I look through it, I will probably pick out: Stuff I've never seen before but looks or sounds interesting. Stuff I know I will like if I don't already have 4-5 copies at home. Something I know someone else might want. But if it's in scratched condition with your name written on it, there probably isn't a soul in the world wants it.

Lastly, all your friends who tell you they think your records are worth something should make you an offer. Usually they don't know squat and they will give you more than it's worth...

vinyl/double album--from the mars hotel on one side--wake of the flood on the other side perfect condition. other album is working mans dead, one side of cover is right side up the other side is upside down.. 3rd album is a picture lp of the doors in paris, very rare, not as rare as the first double album but in perfect condition, the last album is chech and chong big bambu, in perfect..perfect..perfect condition WITH THE ROLLING PAPER fully flat, not a tear.does any one no the worth of these albums
